Blueberries contain anthocyanin, a blue pigment.
Blueberries were originally developed by W. Chan, a farmer who liked the color blue.

Every year we bring a blanket and lawn chairs and make a day of it. You can have a blast without spending a bunch of money. I recommend the snow-cones at the Exit Realty tent (free) and the blueberry smoothies at the SURF youth ministries tent (only $1.00). I hope to see you there!" - Becky Daw.
 "Come get your free 3D glasses at the Exit booth, and see area pictures including homes for sale in the Burgaw area. We'll also be taking 3D pictures of folks, so if you'd like to see yourself and/or family in a 3D photo, come by our booth and have your picture taken in 3D. Enjoy the luscious fruit from Burgaw’s local blueberry farms…snow-cones, smoothies and newly created blueberry wines. The streets are filled with vendors selling home made crafts, purses, jewelry and many other wonderful products. Come and meet, Ivey Hayes, a local and nationally known artist. Relax under the trees and enjoy free music from different bands that call North Carolina their home. Plenty of room for blankets picnic lunches and the family.
