EXIT Homeplace Realty welcomes a new Broker-in-Charge to their Burgaw office.  Watts Carr a North Carolina native moved to Wilmington in 1993 and now resides in Wallace.  A graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, Watts began his real estate career in 1994. Watts has been with EXIT Homeplace Realty for 3 years and is one of their most tech savvy Realtors®.

EXIT Homeplace Realty welcomes a new Broker-in-Charge to their Jacksonville office.  Dana Scalici was born and raised in Metro Detroit where she managed a small yet highly successful family owned Real Estate Company.  She relocated to Wilmington, NC in 2003 and has worked in agent services for the past 6 years.  Dana has been with EXIT Homeplace Realty for 2.5 years as Sales Manager and will continue those duties as well as her new position as Broker-in-Charge.

Exit Homeplace Property Management is proud to announce that Barbara Wood is our new Property Manager for Onslow County.

Originally from Jacksonville, NC, she relocated to the Los Angeles area to attend college. Barbara worked for one of the largest outdoor gear companies in the US–8+ years in retail management in L.A. and 4 years in e-commerce in Seattle. She finally returned to Jacksonville in 2004 but made Wilmington her home because she has family here as well.

Barbara finds it extremely rewarding to welcome newcomers to the area and introduce them to one of the best places to live! After relocating many times herself, she can relate to the issues unique to the relocating and strive to create a smooth transition to the area.

Come out and see us at the 2009 Blueberry Festival in Burgaw

It’s that time of year again and the Blueberries are ripe and ready for picking. In honor, Exit Homeplace Realty is gearing up for this year’s festivity along with our sponsors: Walker Jackson Mortgage, Williams Professional Home Inspections, Strawberry Fields Subdivision, Baker&Colby Attorneys and Security Plus Electric.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 20^th from 9am ~ 9pm. In addition to our booth where we will be giving out FREE blue snow cones…your family will love all the children's activities and education events. Lots of yummy food including a BBQ Cook-Off and anything and everything blueberry!

Between the arts & crafts, antique show & sale, beer & wine garden and the car, truck & motorcycle show there is truly something for everyone. Admission is FREE and there will be drawings and prizes to win. You won’t want to miss it with fun community event. We’ll see ya’ll there!

On March 21^st, 2009 EXIT Homeplace Realty and B.O.L.D (Bettering our Local Downtown) enjoyed a day of fun at its annual street festival Downtown Going Green!

The event all started with a single bagpiper in 2005 and evolved into a street party that encompassed New Bridge Street and provided good “clean” fun for the whole family along with environmental awareness.

Exit Homeplace Realty held a raffle and was able to collect over $300.00 to benefit the Onslow County Woman’s Shelter.

Festivities this year included: Hwang's Tae Kwon Do Demonstration, Face Painting for the Kids, Port City Pipes & Drums, bagpipers and lots more!

There was also a variety of delicious vendors with foods that tempted the taste buds including Hawaiian Kine Shave Ice, Southern Concessions, Enchanted Garden, Hayes Cooking & Catering and Shirley's V-Bar.

The local Police and Fire Department came out in force to join in the fun and put on demonstrations for the kids and it couldn’t have been done without the help from volunteers who included many of our Marines.

A great time was had by all and we look forward to another great event next year.

Growing up as I have in real estate there are certain trainers like Zig Figlar and Floyd Wickman who are considered the elite! That was why; when Steve Caudle brought the opportunity to bring the renowned S.M.A.R.T program to Jacksonville, NC…we jumped at the chance.

The class was a mixture of experience levels and personalities from Eric Sabourin – Hampstead Office who is relatively new to real estate to Debra Futch – Burgaw Office who was already a successful Realtor® in her own right.

There were altogether 9 agents in the course including Karla Palmer who said: “What once appeared to be a universe beyond one’s control is now a fine tuned process backed by proven techniques.”

Pam Adams and Barbara Earley from our Hampstead Office both enjoyed learning to work their books of business.

Alexis Muegge who was working as a buyer specialist is now using her new knowledge along with her prior expertise to generate listing referrals, Brent Crane is helping for sale by owners and Cynthia LaCorte is using the program along with her staging accreditation to further her business in Jacksonville.

Pam Brooke – Burgaw Office commented that the program has helped her get out of her “comfort zone”.

On March 17^th these 9 agents completed the 7 week training program and received their certificates. It was so inspiring for me to see these agents now equipped with tools that will serve them well throughout their careers.

Their overall accomplishments during the program speak for themselves. These 9 brought in over 100 referral leads and about 45 new pieces of business! All in just 7 weeks, I would call that a success.
